Onespot and Kids World Montessori: One World, Two Campuses, One App
A School Built Around a World of Learning
As Kids World Montessori expanded to serve families across two locations, Falls Church and Centreville, managing communication, resources, and daily operations became more complex. For their team, having a centralized school app was not just helpful, it became essential to keeping everything organized, connected, and easy to access for families and staff across both campuses.
Founded in 1996 as a family-owned daycare, Kids World has grown into a bilingual Montessori community centered on connection, culture, and family involvement. Having grown from 12 students to over 50 today, the school expanded its reach with the opening of the Centreville campus in Spring 2025.
Across both locations, Kids World Montessori stays connected through a shared mission: promoting a lifelong love of learning, respect, and acceptance for every unique child.
As their school grew across campuses, so did the need to keep that community connected.
The Challenge: One Community, Two Locations
As Kids World Montessori expanded into Falls Church and Centreville, the focus shifted to alignment. How do you bring two campuses into one experience without creating confusion for families or adding unnecessary complexity for staff?
Each location runs its own day-to-day operations, but the school functions as one community. Moving into a new system also meant some upfront work, as staff needed to set up their information and organize it within the app.
The goal was to build a system that not only supports both campuses but also becomes easier to manage over time. Onespot helped streamline parts of that process by setting up key screens and structure in advance, reducing the amount of manual setup required from staff.
The goal was to structure communication so:
Families can quickly find what matters to them
Staff can manage information more efficiently over time, with less repetition
Both campuses feel connected without overlap or confusion
The Solution: A Meta App That Brings Everything Together
To solve this, Onespot partnered with Kids World Montessori to build a custom Onespot Meta App, designed to support both campuses within one seamless experience.
Instead of juggling multiple apps, the school uses one unified platform. Onespot builds the portals the school needs, which they can then customize to keep communication organized across both locations.
With their Onespot Meta App:
Families access everything from one app
Each campus has its own organized space
School-wide updates can reach everyone instantly
Campus-specific information stays clear and easy to find
It is a structure that mirrors their philosophy. Many unique experiences, connected within one shared world.
The Portals and Integrations The Kids World App Use
Kids World Montessori utilized the platform to create a set of portals tailored to their specific operations. Each space was designed around their community's communication style and the needs of both campuses. Some of their custom portals include:
Family Chats: A simple space for teachers and parents to message each other directly. Use it for quick updates, photo sharing, RSVPs, reminders, and day-to-day communication.
Admin Chats: Individual channels for direct communication with administrators. Used for receiving official announcements, tailored updates, and important notices.
School Calendar: A shared calendar with all school events and key dates. Families can easily see upcomming events.
In addition to these portals, Kids World Montessori integrated their Transparent Classroom account directly into the app. By bundling Transparent Classroom and Onespot, the school provides a single point of access for both academic progress and school management.
They also use Onespot Billing to manage tuition and payments, creating a more streamlined experience for families by keeping everything in one place.
Bringing It All Together
The Kids World Montessori App reflects how their school operates. It is thoughtful, connected, and centered around their families.
By bringing both campuses into one platform, they created a simpler way to manage communication while keeping each location organized and easy to navigate. What started as a need to stay aligned across two campuses has evolved into a more connected experience for families and staff.
It is not just about having an app. It is about having the right structure in place so everything works together in one world, across both campuses.
